Downey Día de Los Muertos Art Festival Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2025 “More Art, More Fun” One of the Southland’s signature events, the annual Downey Día de Los Muertos Art Festival, is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 2025, from 11 AM – 8 PM, at the City’s Civic Center and the Downey Theatre, on Firestone Blvd., across from Downey High School. Admission and parking are free. Expected attendance is 30,000 +/-. In 2021 the Festival, which brings Downey and surrounding area residents together to share the history and customs of Día de Los Muertos, was awarded special recognition by the state of California for its unique programming and contributions to local art, music, dance and theatre. Annual attractions include altars, Aztec dancers, specialized foods, sugar skull (calaveras) decorating, plus multiple art exhibits, workshops and demonstrations; continuous live music and dance on three stages, 10 food trucks, tamale carts, 35+ top-quality vendors offering themed merchandise, and much more.
